The Research in Computer Science Seminar Presents: Software Piracy Prevention, by: Michael Folk
Abstract
This presentation examines the social and technical challenges associated with software piracy prevention. We identify the weaknesses of existing schemes and describe a new approach that combines program instrumentation and software aging in order to increase the difficulty associated with piracy. Our preliminary implementation uses aspect-oriented programming (AOP) techniques to modify a program's execution. Our goal is to design, implement, and empirically evaluate a comprehensive framework for software piracy prevention.
